To change the environment of your home, you should think the strategies of change. Will some minor changes will satisfy you or you want major changes? Minor changes can be effected on a week-end while major changes will many days of planning and shopping.
A lot depends on the life-style. Home decoration of a well-to-do family will be quite different from an upper class family. While in the later category there may not be any constraint on the expenses incurred, the former one will not like to go for, say an ornate carpet. However, basic considerations of minor changes and major changes in both cases, will remain the same.
Changing the setting of the rooms, moving things from one place to another, washing and cleaning thoroughly, changing the curtains and sofa-cover, etc. are minor changes. They will make the rooms more to your liking and you will feel relaxed reaching home after work. Your home will become your dream home without much effort and without incurring heavy expenses.
If you are not satisfied by the shade of paint of your house and you want to change its colour or shade, or you want to get rid of the old furniture and buy some new stylish one, in that case you will have to go for major changes. Before deciding finally the type of changes you want, please think over it time and again for few days and better seek some professional guidance.
When you go for major changes you must decide about the theme of your house. It should precede other considerations because it is going to affect many of them. Your home decorating accent and the colors of walls and the type of furniture etc. are going to be decided on the basis of the theme that you have selected.
After deciding the base, decision about other things will follow in quick succession. So if you want to change and express your ideas and needs, redecorate your home with different aesthetically home accents. You sure can make your home a clear and unique statement of your personality.
The themes can vary according to your choice. You can prefer a life busy and business like or a life centered on pleasures and comforts, a simple life full of compassion or a secluded but luxurious living. All the options of home decorations will follow accordingly.
For example, in case of busy and business like life-style, a visitor will not come to your drawing-room. He will be received in the office room. Only selected few or relatives will come to the drawing-room. In the last case of a secluded but luxurious living also most of the visitor will be attended in the meeting room meant for them and some arrangement to restrict the entry may also be made.
Though in both the cases a meeting room will need to be maintained, but its decoration will be very different. A meeting room serving as office will require space for secretarial staff and some office-like furniture. In the second category the visitors' room may be quite opulent. A leathered sofa and carpets should be part of its decoration.
